Foreigners are required to apply for a work permit to be able to work in Belarus. Usually the employer handles the work permit process on behalf of their future foreign employees. The process consists of applying for a work permit at the labor authority, and afterwards applying for a work visa and possibly a temporary residence permit at the migration authorities. The permits are granted usually for a 1-year period. This requirement also applies for foreign heads of companies.
