Belarus looks to cancel planned certification requirements for accounting companies

Accounting companies and individual entrepreneurs who provide accounting services do not need to receive a tax consultant certificate before January 1, 2019, contrary to earlier news. When the requirement was published earlier this year, it caused a lot of controversy because of the difficulty to obtain such a certification especially to small entrepreneurs. Now the following changes have been made to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of September 19, 2017 No. 338 “On tax consulting”:

- Tax records can be maintained and tax declarations made by accounting companies without having a certified person doing it.

- Planned control measures for companies providing tax consulting services without employing certified personnel are canceled.

Right now it seems that there is no final decision from the authorities about what the fate of the law on tax consulting will be, so we will follow the issue.
