Minimum wages from February 2021

An agreement has been reached on new minimum wages, which could thus be valid from February.

The new amount of the minimum wage for unskilled jobs will be HUF 167,400 gross, and the guaranteed minimum wage will change to HUF 219,000 gross. The raise is approx. 4%, which offsets official inflation. This is the smallest increase since 2015, mainly due to the economic downturn caused by the pandemic.

The parties also agreed that if the social contribution tax continues to fall by 2 percentage points in July this year, the minimum wage will increase by a further 1%.
