New minimum wages, this time from December

Each year, the stakeholders agree on the minimum wage and guaranteed minimum wage valid for the following year. The agreement between employers and employees is usually approved by the government.

This year, this agreement was already reached in November, and the government issued its decree on it. What is special, however, is that this time the new rules will not come into effect on January 1 next year, but on 1 December, 2023.

All benefits linked to the minimum wage or the guaranteed minimum wage will change from 1 December. The minimum wage will increase by 15% to HUF 266,800 gross per month, and the guaranteed minimum wage by 10% to HUF 326,000 gross per month.
