Special Work Schedule in 2022

There is a unique tradition in Hungary related to public holidays that is ususally strange for most of the foreigners. However, it must be adhered to by both employer and employees.

If a public holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, we add the only working day next to it to the weekend, giving us a four-day long weekend.

Of course, there is no free lunch, the day off must be replaced at another time. This is usually a Saturday in the same month.

As a result, attendance sheets and timesheets sometimes show strange working weeks, and they need to be filled in accordingly.

In 2022, we will have two such long weekends.

March 15 is a national holiday that falls on Tuesday. Monday, March 14, will be replaced by Saturday, March 26.

November 1 will also be Tuesday, so October 31 will be replaced by Saturday, October 15, when it will be a working day.

Please plan and record working time accordingly.
