Wage theft is a criminal offence. Whether employers who deliberately and for their own or others’ gain fail to pay agreed or statutory wages. This could be punishable by imprisonment for fines or up to 2 years. Serious wage theft can be punishable by fines or imprisonment for up to 6 years.
Employers who do not fulfil their obligations under the Compulsory Occupational Pension Act (OTP) when it comes to creating or paying defined contribution pensions for their employees may be punished with fines or imprisonment of up to 2 years.
