FINES IMPOSED FOR HUMILIATION OR HARASSMENT AT THE WORKPLACE

In Ukraine, fines are imposed for humiliation and harassment at the workplace.

At a meeting on December 1, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law (draft law No. 5749), which provides for administrative responsibility for mobbing (harassment and humiliation of employees at the workplace).

“This is already the second law on the issue of mobbing: with the first #5748, we introduced the concept of mobbing into Ukrainian legislation, and with the second – we introduced punishment. Administrative responsibility for this offense should be established by a separate draft law. Without it, it was not possible to make changes to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. So now there will be a separate article for such actions, which I hope will disappear from Ukrainian society,” said Yuliya Hryshina, a People’s Deputy from “Servants of the People”, the initiator of the document.

The document provides for the following fines:

– UAH 1,700-2,550 or 20-40 hours of community service;

– UAH 3,400-5,100 or 40-60 hours of community service in case of repeated harassment within a year or by a group of people.
