Several restrictions have been lifted since 4 May in Hungary to gradually relaunch economy and social life.
The public movement restrictions remained in force in Budapest and Pest county (around Budapest) only because there are the vast majority of infections. In all other parts of the country, shops can open, terraces and open air facilities can operate again. Beaches, open air museums, zoos can also open. However, every open air event is banned until 15 August. The big popular music festivals are all cancelled but the famous Kékszalag (Cordon Bleu) sailing race on Balaton might be held in July under special conditions.
Private health care can operate again, while the public health care can be used upon prior booking on phone.
Schools remain closed until end of May, and since the academic year ends on 15 June, we assume there will be no change for the last two weeks.
Many factories and other businesses reopened since then and gradually relauch operation and production.
