Government services one-stop-shop available for foreign IT specialists

Various public services will now be provided on a one-stop basis for foreign IT specialists. Kazakhstan is a bureaucratic country and there are many hoops to jump through when immigrating there for labor purposes. The one-stop principle makes it a lot easier to fulfill those requirements.

IT specialists arriving in Kazakhstan for a long period of time will be able to receive such public services as: issuing an individual identification number (IIN), registration in the Mobile Citizens Database, issuing an electronic digital signature (EDS), registering a legal entity, opening a bank account, registering temporary residence, purchase of a Kazakhstani SIM card, etc.

The head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Bagdat Musin commented that “The development of the IT industry is one of the priorities of our ministry. There are specific instructions from the president – to develop effective measures to support domestic IT specialists and assist in attracting successful international IT companies. The provision of services on the principle of “one window” is meant precisely to do this”.

The relevant service center employs employees of the Public Service Center, second-tier banks, the migration service and other specialists.

Thanks to registration in the database of mobile citizens, a foreign IT specialist will be able to independently use the services of the e-government portal and the eGov mobile application.

A full list of services is available on the www.astanahub.com platform. The Astana Hub is an IT hub infrastructure for domestic and foreign-owned IT companies, where membership carries significant benefits to companies.
