Update for employers: Women´s military registration postponed

Last week we informed about the need to perform a military registration for some female employee categories. Now the requirement for military registration of women was postponed for 1 year – until October 1, 2023.

Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar reported that the Ministry of Defense prepared an order that once again postponed the terms of taking women of relevant professions/specialties into military registration for another year – until October 1, 2023. The relevant order was signed on September 6, 2022 by the Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov.

The new order of the Ministry of Defense does not change the legislation, but it will allow the AFU Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, and then the Parliament as a whole, to finalize and amend the legislation to regulate this issue.
